June 2009
Its been a packed year of moving about and making new friends. I've certainly whipped up a good crowd here in Maracaibo, Venezuela. I am continuing to travel and dive, although have been a bit lazy with the camera. I have to admit, I am a bit reluctant to venture out in the city with my gear. I'll make more of an effort in the summer months!
Venezuela is a wonderful mix of culture, music, colour, sand, sea and food!! It never ceases to surprise...thats for sure! Find me on Facebook for further details.
New projects coming up - I have made contacts/friends with the local rugby squad here in Maracaibo so I hope to get a few action shots from the sidelines! Watch this space!
Enjoy the summer..... I know I certainly will be. Colombia and Ecuador are possibly on the horizon.
Best,
Susan

A Little About Me....
Since I got my first Minolta camera during my first year at University back in Canada I remain fascinated with photographic images, photographic techniques, light, film and any feasible combination of the above…..my dear ‘ol dad got me into this from day one and I just haven’t looked back. I have read books and magazines, studied manuals and anything else I can get my dirty paws on….but I’ve mostly learned through experience.
I use all Nikon equipment – including film SLR (Nikon 808s) and a Nikon D100- digital SLR, and Nikkor lenses. Film will always be my first choice for quality, although digital is wonderful to work with in terms of immediate results and convenience when travelling.
Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, my family has travelled throughout the world since I was young. Being a serious amateur, I feel privileged to be able to share my hobby and my passion, my travels and all the beautiful things this earth has to offer.
Please enjoy and feel free to contact me with comments, ideas, suggestions or just to touch base.
